Vendor Setup:
Friday from 10 pm - Till, Saturday from 6-9 am, Sunday from 9-10 am.
The time available for set-up in Gulfport is contingent on availability of
the exhibit space. The hotel has
recently rented our space to a church group on Friday. Their function
is not scheduled to end until 10:00 PM Friday. The hotel will begin
our set-up at the conclusion of their
activities. Our vendors can set-up any time after their space is
available. Vendors in the hall
(tables 1 - 9) should not have a problem as long as they don't disturb the
group. Additionally, I will be there to supervise at 6:00 AM instead of
7:00 AM as originally planned.
Hotel Occupancy: When the Fair is located at a Hotel or facility with sleeping rooms,
the cost of the Fair hall is frequently dependant on the number of rooms
reserved by the fair vendors and participants. This is a variable
cost. It can be very significant and doesn't show up until the fair is
over. Vendors staying at
a Hotel associated with the Fair will
receive extra consideration over vendors choosing to stay at a different
hotel. If you are a local vendor or have a special circumstance,
it will not affect availability of space.

Fair" The Group Rate is +++++ for
Single or Double.
Be sure to make the
association between your reservations and the "Group". If
you don't tell them, they won't know. It is also important for vendors to
make
their reservations early. The Hotel doesn't charge your account until
you checkout after the fair and if you should have to cancel, there is no
charge.
Vendor Hospitality: No formal
Hospitality room set-up. The Hotel Bar is next to the Fair Hall.
Sales Taxes: Total
Tax Due is: 7.0%
Mississippi
has required me to pre-pay the estimated sales taxes for the Fair.
You are required to collect Seven
(7%) on all sales, including birds. They have given me
vendor envelops for vendors to enclose tax payments. Payment should
be in cash or check payable to GNO
Expo, with appropriate notation indicating that the check is for Sales
taxes at the Fair. You can get a separate receipt for your taxes if
necessary. The envelops should be returned by 4:00 PM on
Sunday. Vendors leaving early should
return the envelop to the admission table when they leave.
Tax Numbers: Vendors who have a Mississippi Sales Tax
Number have the option to make their tax payment directly to the state
along with their regular business payments. If you choose this
option, you should write your Mississippi Tax Number on the envelop and
return it to me before you leave.
Bird Sales License: Mississippi
requires that anyone selling birds have a license to sell birds. The
Miss. Board of Animal Health has sent a
supply of license applications for the Fair. If
you don't already have a Miss. license and sell a bird, or if you want to
be a "Licensed Retail Bird
Dealer" in Miss. You can complete the form and return it to me
with a $10 check, payable to "State of Mississippi", and I will
give it to their agent, if they show up
at the Fair or mail it to them on your behalf.
Wholesale licenses are also available for
$25, or combo license for $35, and Licenses will be mailed to your home
address after processing.
