Vendor Setup:
    Friday from Noon-8 pm, Saturday from 7-9 am, Sunday from 9-10 am.

Hotel Occupancy:  
When the Fair is located at a Hotel or facility with sleeping rooms, the cost of the Fair hall is frequently dependant on the number of rooms reserved by the fair vendors and participants.  This is a variable cost.  It can be very significant and doesn't show up until the fair is  over.  Vendors staying at a Hotel associated with the Fair will receive extra consideration over vendors choosing to stay at a different  hotel.  If you are a local vendor or have a special circumstance, it will not affect availability of space.

Group Name is "Bird Fair"   The Group Rate is  $85  for Single or Double
Be sure to make the association between your reservations and the "Group". If you don't tell them, they won't know. It is also important for vendors to make their reservations early. The Hotel doesn't charge your account until you checkout after the fair and if you should have to cancel, there is no charge.

Sales Taxes:   Total Tax Due is:   8.75% 
The sales tax is divided between the State of Louisiana (4%) and Jefferson Parish (4.75%).  It is the vendors responsibility to pay the State Tax directly to the Louisiana Department of Revenue in Baton Rouge, LA.  The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Dept. will send Deputies to the Fair to distribute Tax Forms and signed acknowledgements of responsibility.   Vendors are responsible for remitting the 4.75% local tax directly to the Sheriff's Dept. Payment should be payable to Harry Lee, Sheriff & Tax Collector; in the envelops provided to remit tax payments.    Vendors with Jefferson Parish Occupational Licenses or Tax Accounts must follow the Special Event procedure. You should not include the fair revenues with your normal business income reports.

Tax Numbers:  Vendors who have a Louisiana Sales Tax Number should make their Louisiana tax payment  directly to the state along with their regular business payments.  The Parrish Taxes should be included in the remittance of the 4 3/4% due to the local Sheriff Dept.

Bird Sales License:  Not Required.
